Though Nonsuch Mansion was built in the mid-eighteenth century, you’d be forgiven for thinking you’ve been pulled into an Austen novel. The interior still bears the hallmarks of its original Georgian design, with lovingly maintained finishings that minimise the need for additional dressings. For weddings taking place in the colder months, the medieval-style fireplaces provide both warmth and a unique talking point – especially with its Latin inscription of “Hora E Sempre”, meaning “Now and Forever”.

The dreamiest spaces for indoor weddings are in the Orchid Room and Rose Room. 

Beneath the arch-topped bay windows that look out onto the lawn, you and your partner will be illuminated in natural light in the Orchid Room, with medieval motifs and stained glass adding touches of period drama to your ceremony. Gold chandeliers and long panel mirrors add to the luxury. 

The Rose Room brings a dash of romance with its cosy interior, three Georgian sash windows, and Tudor rose motifs. Your guests will sit theatre-style with a gorgeous long aisle in the middle of the room. The Dressing Room is an ideal place for the wedding party to get ready before the ceremony, and for touchups throughout the event.

Nonsuch Mansion has a civil ceremony licence; however, if you prefer a religious ceremony, several nearby churches can accommodate you.

After the vows are declared, and the rings exchanged, your guests can take a stroll along the North or South porches whilst your reception space is being arranged and the wedding party is engaged in photos. These walks showcase either the sun- or lantern-lit garden paths, or a Gothic arched doorway leading to a room of stunning artworks and calligraphy.

You have the option to host your reception indoors or outdoors. Inside, the Library is best suited to a standing reception, whereas the Rose and Orchid Rooms are great for seated arrangements. Smaller rooms are open for guests to break out into, perfect for younger children or older guests who enjoy a moment of quiet away from the hubbub of the main party. 

If an outdoor reception is more your taste, the lawn is the perfect place for a marquee. Imagine a pure white tent adorned with floral arrangements, twinkling lights, and beautiful table settings. The inhouse catering services will leave no guest wanting. Since 2009, Nonsuch Mansion has been in partnership with Bovingdons, which is helmed by a Michelin-trained head chef. Bovingdons prioritises using sustainably farmed seasonal produce, focusing on modern European cuisine. Nonsuch Mansion also offers dry hire.

As of April 2020, accommodation is now also available onsite. Couples have full use of the 2nd-floor apartment with 11 exceptional bedrooms. Staff can continue to treat you and your nearest and dearest with a Continental breakfast before your departure the morning after your wedding.
